Silvera Approved

Products we would recommend to our own parents.

There are thousands of mobility products available to us. The value we add is not access to them, it is refusing most of them.

What has to be true

Would we put a parent in it

The whole standard, in one sentence. If the answer is no, it does not go on the site whatever it pays.

Specifications sourced, never guessed

Every number on a product page comes from the manufacturer or a major retailer and is dated. Where we have not verified something, the page says pending verification rather than inventing a figure. On mobility equipment a wrong weight capacity is a safety problem.

Weight, because it decides use

The best chair in the world is worthless if the person loading it cannot lift it.

It has to look like something they would own

A large share of refusal is not about capability. It is about not wanting to be seen with hospital equipment, and that is a reasonable objection.

Limitations published

Every product carries what it is bad at, written by us, in the same size type as what it is good at.

Commission never buys a place

We earn a commission on some links. It has no weight in the selection, and the cheapest right answer is still the right answer.

What we have not done

We have not physically tested these products in a laboratory, and we do not say "tested" anywhere on this site, because that word means something specific. We evaluate, we verify specifications against sources, and we select. When we have physically tested something, the page will say so and give the date.

We also do not publish reviews, star ratings or customer counts, because we have not collected any yet. An empty space is more honest than an invented number.

Silvera may earn a commission when you buy through this link. It does not increase your price, and we do not recommend a product because it pays. How we make money.
