Accessibility

Most of our customers are older adults, people managing a mobility limitation, or a family member helping them. Accessibility here is the product rather than a compliance exercise, so this page states what has actually been done and what has not.

What this site does

• Body text is 18px on desktop and never below 16px, at a line length that stays readable.
• Every interactive target is at least 54px tall.
• Text contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 AA. The orange used for graphics is never used for text: text accents use a darker tone that passes at 6.4:1.
• Nothing important is communicated by colour alone.
• The whole site works by keyboard, with a visible focus ring and a skip link.
• Headings are in order, images carry real alt text, and the comparison table is a real table with row and column headers.
• No carousels, no parallax, no autoplay, no countdown timers, no popups, and no scroll-jacking.
• Animation is limited to a line drawing that draws itself once, and it is disabled entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
• Pinch zoom is not disabled.
• There is no accessibility overlay widget on this site. They tend to make things worse for the screen-reader users they claim to help.

What has not been done yet

• The site has not been through an independent audit. When it has, the result will be published here whatever it says.
• It has not been tested with every screen reader and magnifier combination.
• There is no plain-language alternative version of the guides yet.
